FAQ

What do I need to become a webcam model?

You must be at least 18 years old. You will need a computer, a webcam and a high speed Internet connection. You will also need a valid government photo ID.

How much money can I make as a webcam model?

You can earn over $250 an hour and easily thousands of dollars a month. There is no limit to your earnings. It all depends on how much effort you put into it. With an HD video feed and a great cam show you will earn top dollar. Age and looks don’t matter as much as a positive attitude and an open-minded personality.

Will I have to do hardcore shows or perform nude?

While you are not required to do anything you are not comfortable with keep in mind many members are seeking intimate or sexual encounters. Prior to accepting a paid show, you need to make sure members are aware of the type of show you are presenting.

Can I work on other cam sites at the same time?

Yes, you can. Although we recommend sticking with the cam company you do the best with. If you spread yourself too thin, you might not build up your audience as well. Don’t be afraid to try different cam companies. When you find the one that fits your style, stay with them.

Am I required to work a certain number of hours?

This is your business. The hours you work are completely up to you. Keep in mind though, the more you work, the more money you make! Working more will increase your fan base and that increases the amount you make every hour. Work any time of the day or night. You’re the boss.

What fees am I looking at to get started?

None. The only cost to you is your computer, Internet connection and a high quality web cam. There are no contracts, no obligations, and no fees. This is true for all the cam companies we represent. You also retain ownership and copyright of your content including videos, images and text. You can stop anytime you want to with no repercussions.

How do I keep my privacy?

You will remain anonymous while you are online with members. Privacy is your cam company’s top priority. If you are concerned about family or friends seeing you online our cam companies have the ability to block your city, county, state or country, preventing anyone from that area viewing your show.

How often will I be paid and how?

Each cam company is different but that information is very important to models, so it’s one of the first things you learn when you sign on. Different payment methods are available depending on the company. All offer direct deposit, checks, wire and other options.

Will I be able to see my payment history and current earnings?

Yes, in your admin account you will see all past payments as well as your current earnings. Keep in mind, your relationship is one on one with the Cam company. You do not have to have a webmaster middleman.

What kind of equipment do I need?

You need a decent fast computer that’s fairly new. If you have one already, see how it works before committing to a newer one. If you can, dedicate a computer to your work. You will need a webcam and we recommend an HD webcam like the Logitech C920. Logitech is the best out there and you can get one on Amazon for about $50. The webcam has built in stereo microphones too. An Apple computer works just as well as a Windows computer.

Why do I have to have a high speed Internet connection?

If you have a slow Internet connection, your video feed will be very choppy and members won’t want to pay for your show. High-speed Internet allows you to have a solid, smooth video feed and increases your earnings.

Is there anything I’m not allowed to do on cam?

Every company has different rules about what you can do. You need to familiarize yourself with what is allowed so you don’t jeoprodize your relationship with them. Generally speaking you are not allowed to give out personal information to members. You are also not allowed to portray depictions of sex with someone under the age of 18, rape, incest, bestiality, fisting, necrophilia, urination, and defecation. You do not want to get crossways with the law.

What if I need some help and guidance to get my show going?

We work exclusively with individuals that sign up with our cam companies. We offer tips, guidance and plenty of resources to help you be successful. We only ask that you click through our site using our affiliate links. If you have another cam company not listed here, contact us, we will let you know whether the cam company is going to be a good fit for you and we will send our affiliate link to you for signup.

What is the benefit of joining a “studio”?

There is no benefit to you, but plenty to the webmaster that operates the studio. They act as middleman between you and the cam company. They can sign you to valid contracts. They pay you instead of the cam company. There is absolutely no reason to sign with a “studio”. We recommend signing directly with the cam company of your choice and eliminating the webmaster middleman.

Do I have to pay taxes on my cam income?

Working as a cam model you are considered an independent contractor. You are basically a small business unto yourself. You can set up as an individual or a LLC corporation. The good news is everything you spend on your business is deductable come tax time. You can deduct all expenses including home office, costumes, toys, computer equipment, cameras and whatever else you purchase to make your business work. For more details, speak to a tax professional.
